1Who we are

Zaldara is a trade name of Digiplat Inc., a registered Money Services Business in the United States, and of Zaldara's Costa Rican operations, registered under the Article 15 bis framework [Costa Rican legal entity name to confirm]. In this policy, "Zaldara", "we" and "us" refer to both. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Questions about this policy can be sent to info@zaldara.com.

2Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in our contact form, write to us or become a client, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, country, the service you are interested in and anything you include in your message.

Information we need to verify you. Before we provide a service, the law requires us to verify your identity and, in some cases, the source of your funds. This can include government-issued ID, date of birth, address, tax identification number, company documents, information about beneficial owners, and bank or wallet details.

Transaction information. For each transaction we keep amounts, currencies, dates, quoted and locked rates, account and wallet details, and the parties involved.

Website information. When you visit our website we collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and time spent. Some of this is collected through cookies, as explained in our Cookie Notice.

3How we use your information

  • To answer your inquiry and prepare quotes and proposals
  • To verify your identity and carry out KYC/AML and source-of-funds reviews
  • To provide our services, including conversions, payments, escrow and financing
  • To meet our legal and regulatory duties in the United States and Costa Rica, including record keeping and reporting to authorities
  • To detect and prevent fraud, money laundering and other illegal activity
  • To keep our website working and secure, and to understand how it is used
  • To send you service messages about your transactions

We will only send you marketing emails if you agree to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

4Legal basis

We process your information to provide the services you request, to comply with the law, to protect our legitimate interests in running a secure business, and, where required, with your consent.

5Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only when needed with:

  • Banks, payment networks and digital-asset service providers that help us complete your transactions
  • Identity-verification and compliance providers
  • Investors or lenders in our private network, only when you apply for financing and only what the application requires
  • Professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers
  • Regulators, courts and law enforcement, when the law requires it
  • Technology providers that host our website and systems, under confidentiality obligations

6International transfers

Our services connect clients around the world with Latin America, so your information may be stored or processed in the United States, Costa Rica and other countries where our providers operate. We use contracts and security measures to protect it wherever it is processed.

7How long we keep it

We keep identity and transaction records for as long as the law requires, which is generally at least five years after the end of our relationship with you. We keep website and inquiry data only as long as we need it for the purposes above.

8How we protect it

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption, access controls and staff training. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you and the relevant authorities about any breach when the law requires it.

9Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, to object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent. In Costa Rica, these rights are protected under Law 8968 on the Protection of Persons in the Processing of their Personal Data.

Some information must be kept to meet legal requirements even if you ask us to delete it. To make a request, write to info@zaldara.com. We will verify your identity before responding.

10Children

Our services are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are significant, we will tell you on our website or by email.
